What is the function of the engine valve rotator?

In general, in the case of the same displacement, the more the valve, the better the intake and exhaust efficiency, just like a person running, tired and breathless, you need to open your mouth to breathe. The traditional engine is mostly one intake valve and one exhaust valve per cylinder, and this two-valve gas distribution mechanism is relatively simple and relatively easy to maintain. For ordinary engines with low output power requirements, two valves can obtain more satisfactory engine output power and torque performance.

Marine diesel engine accessories, larger displacement, larger power engine to use multi-valve technology. The simple multi-valve technology is a three-valve structure, that is, an intake valve is added on the basis of a two-valve structure in one row.

The four-valve structure can greatly improve the suction and exhaust efficiency of the engine, but reaching or exceeding six valves not only makes the valve structure too complex, but also leads to shortened engine life, and the space curtain area of the valve opening (the circumference of the valve and the lift of the valve) is also small, and the efficiency is reduced. Therefore, four-valve technology is currently used as common.

It should be pointed out that the number of cylinders and valves can be used as one of the criteria to judge the quality of the engine, but it is not the only standard.
