Marine diesel engine accessories introduced the basic structure

The main engine has a main shaft, which passes through the hull at the stern and is attached to the propeller. After the main engine starts up, the main shaft is driven to rotate, the main shaft drives the propeller to rotate, and the hull can overcome the resistance of the ship to move forward.

This is the most basic principle that the ship host can promote the ship forward, probably in junior high school physics learning stage have been exposed to.

The main engine plays an important role, the structure is complex, and the technical content of fault and maintenance work is high.

Top dead center (TDC)

Refers to the piston in the cylinder movement can reach the top position. When the piston reaches TDC, it is farthest from the center line of the crankshaft. The center line of the crankshaft is the horizontal Z length dot line.

Bottom dead center (BDC)

Refers to the bottom position of the piston in the cylinder, that is, the position of the piston closest to the center line of the crankshaft.

Itinerary (S)

Refers to the straight line distance between the piston from top dead center to bottom dead center, this S refers to the English Stroke.

The piston travels the length of one stroke, and the crankshaft turns exactly 180°, so the piston moves one stroke, which is equivalent to the crankshaft turning 180°CA.
