A Brief Analysis on the Wear of Cylinder Liner of Marine L28/32 Diesel Engine Accessories

Main engine spare parts for marine diesel engine accessories include: cylinder liner, cylinder head, cylinder head, water jacket, frame, crankshaft, connecting rod, piston ring, piston skirt, piston, piston pin, air valve, valve seat, valve rod, bearing bush, fuel injection system, O-ring, gasket, etc.

The service life of diesel engine mainly depends on cylinder liner and piston. The wear degree of main bearing pipe and other parts can be effectively measured and predicted to improve the operation and management level of marine diesel engine.

Brief Analysis of Diesel Engine Cylinder Liner Wear

The cylinder liner wear of diesel engine can be divided into normal wear and abnormal wear. The normal wear rate is about (1~8) · 10~5mm/h. The wear rate in case of abnormal wear may be several times, dozens of times, or even higher than the normal wear rate. The abrupt change in the slope of the wear curve is caused by various abnormal wear.

The wear of diesel engine in operation is mainly abrasive wear and corrosion wear. There are many reasons for abnormal wear, mainly including

① The diameter of abrasive particles is about 30um;

② The sulfur content in the fuel oil is higher than the normal value;

③ The alkali value of cylinder oil is too low;

④ The cooling water temperature of cylinder liner deviates from the set value;

⑤ The exhaust temperature is higher than the normal value;

⑥ The clearance between piston and cylinder liner is too large.
