What is the difference between marine diesel engine parts and vehicle diesel engine

1. Acid neutralization capacity:

Due to the high sulfur content of diesel fuel, the sulfides (SO2, SO3) generated after combustion and the condensate formed on the cylinder wall during the cold start or frequent start and stop of the engine (when the temperature is lower than the dew point) generate a large number of strong acids. This will cause strong corrosion to the metal cylinder system and accelerate the oil aging. Therefore, diesel engine oil is required to have high total base number (TBN) and DK28 diesel engine accessories to maintain good acid neutralization capacity.

2. Anti-wear performance:

The rotational speed of the gasoline engine crankshaft is higher, and it is not easy to form and maintain an appropriate thickness of oil film between the bearing shells for lubrication; Its machining clearance is smaller than that of diesel engine, and it is easier to wear. In addition, the high speed and frequent opening and closing of valves, cams and ejector rods in the ignition valve system unique to gasoline engines also aggravate the wear of valve system. Therefore, gasoline engine oil is required to have better lubrication performance, minimize the wear of parts and prolong the service life.
