The difference between low-speed, medium-speed, and high-speed marine diesel engines

Marine diesel engine accessories Most low-speed diesel engines are two-stroke engines, most medium-speed diesel engines are four-stroke engines, and high-speed diesel engines have both. The scavenging forms of marine two-stroke diesel engines include return scavenging, port-valve DC scavenging and opposed-piston port scavenging. High-power medium and low-speed diesel engines widely use heavy oil as fuel, and high-speed diesel engines still mostly use light diesel.

1. Different speed

Low-speed marine diesel engine: The speed of low-speed marine diesel engine is 60~120r·min.

Medium-speed marine diesel engine: The speed of medium-speed marine diesel engine is 600~1500r·min.

High-speed marine diesel engine: The speed of high-speed marine diesel engine is 600~2250r·min.

Second, the cylinder diameter is different

Low-speed marine diesel engine: The cylinder diameter of the low-speed marine diesel engine is 350~900mm.

Medium-speed marine diesel engine: The cylinder diameter of the medium-speed marine diesel engine is 195~225mm.

High-speed marine diesel engine: The cylinder diameter of the high-speed marine diesel engine is 98~185mm.

Three, single cylinder power is different

Low-speed marine diesel engine: The single-cylinder power of the low-speed marine diesel engine is 567~3855kW.

Medium-speed marine diesel engine: The single-cylinder power of the medium-speed marine diesel engine is 195~255kW.

High-speed marine diesel engine: The single-cylinder power of the high-speed marine diesel engine is 915~127kW.
