The function of the rocker arm is to transmit the movement of the camshaft to the intake and exhaust valves. The rocker shaft is hollow, with many small through holes on it, and small holes are drilled on the rocker arm support. The small holes on the rocker shaft are opposite to the small holes on the rocker support, and the other on the rocker shaft The small through hole is on the surface of the hole that matches the rocker arm, so the oil in the rocker shaft hole can lubricate the rocker hole that rotates relative to the rocker shaft through the small hole. To prevent the rocker arm from moving axially on the rocker arm shaft, a rocker arm spring is designed between the rocker arm and the rocker arm shaft support to stabilize the determined position of the rocker arm.

Installation method of rocker arm and rocker shaft

1. Coat a proper amount of engine oil on the rocker shaft and rocker arm;

2. Install the rocker shaft, rocker arm and rocker spring;

3. Install the rocker shaft cock and the inner cover of the timing belt, and then tighten the rocker shaft cock to the specified torque;

4. Check whether the O-ring is damaged or worn, install the O-ring on the rocker shaft, and make the groove of the O-ring on the rocker shaft face the side of the transmission;

5. Assemble the rocker shaft, and make the cut part parallel to the mating surface of the camshaft cover, and smooth the surface of the rocker shaft fulcrum support of the rocker arm;

6. Install the rocker shaft bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.
