Ship diesel engine failure phenomenon

When a marine diesel engine fails, the following phenomena are generally accompanied:

(1) Abnormal sound A normal operating marine diesel engine has a certain amount of noise. When a malfunction occurs, the sound becomes abnormal. If the piston hits the valve, a metal knocking sound occurs; when the oil supply angle is too large, a burning knock sound occurs; when the cylinder leaks, a blowing sound occurs; when the rotating member touches, a friction sound occurs.

(2) Abnormal appearance, such as blue smoke due to burning oil; black smoke caused by poor burning; oil leakage and air leakage caused by failure of sealing surface.

(3) Abnormal temperature If the oil supply angle is too late or the load is too high, the temperature of the exhaustion is too high; the bearing that appears in the bearing burnout is overheated; the temperature of the water and oil that appears in the cooling system is too high.

(4) Abnormal operation If the balance is invalid or the foundation is not strong, the vibration is too large; when the speed regulation fails, the speed or the vehicle is running; if the starting system is faulty, the marine diesel engine cannot start up.

(5) Abnormal pressure, such as when the valve and piston ring seal failure occurs, the cylinder pressure is too low; the crankcase pressure is too high; the oil pressure of the lubrication system fault is too low; the pressure of the boosting system fault is too low.

(6) Abnormal smells such as burnt smell when the electrical system fails; soot smell of burning oil.
